TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Arizona State defensive end/outside linebacker Carl Bradford will skip his senior season and become available for this year’s NFL draft.

Coach Todd Graham issued a statement reacting to Bradford’s decision. Graham said it was “an honor and privilege” to coach Bradford.

Graham added that Arizona State wants to be known for a tough, stout defense and that Bradford helped the Sun Devils achieve that the past two seasons.

Bradford already has earned his degree in criminal justice.

He had 61 tackles last season, including a team-high 19 for loss and 812 sacks, and was a second-team all-Pac-12 selection. Bradford returned an interception for a touchdown in the victory over UCLA that clinched the Pac-12 South title.

Bradford’s departure will leave only two returning starters on defense for the Sun Devils.
