Nominees for high school winter sports athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Jan. 11. Voting will conclude at 8 p.m. Thursday with results published in Friday’s Columbian.

BROOKE ATWELL, HERITAGE GYMNASTICS: Atwell won on all four apparatus, including scoring a 9.6 on the floor exercise, and won the all-around with a score of 36.4 in a meet with Mountain View.

JARON HAMLIK, PRAIRIE SWIMMING: Hamlik won the 200 and 100 free in a meet at Mark Morris, including a state-qualifying time in the 200 free of 1:50.20.

MICAH PAULSON, UNION BOYS BASKETBALL: Paulson averaged 17.5 points a game as the Titans opened 4A Greater St. Helens League play with back-to-back wins.

ZAC SEEVERS, WOODLAND WRESTLING: Seevers won the 160-pound championship at the Sgt. Justin Norton Memorial Tournament in Rainier, Ore.

AUBREY WARD-EL, SKYVIEW GIRLS BASKETBALL: Ward averaged 13.3 points a game as the Storm won three games last week. She also had 17 rebounds in a win over Mark Morris.
