YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) — Darell Combs and Mike Talley scored 14 points each as Eastern Michigan clamped down on Western Michigan — which hit just four field goals before halftime — en route to a 56-37 victory Tuesday night.

After starting the game with a pair of quick 3-pointers and a jumper for an 8-3 lead, Western Michigan went the next 17 minutes with one field goal to trail 32-14 at halftime. It’s the fifth time this season the Eagles held a foe to less than 20 first-half points.

Eastern Michigan (10-6, 2-1) forced the Broncos into 26 turnovers, 28.6 percent shooting and had 18 steals — Daylen Harrison with a career-high five.
