Planning on having a party at a Vancouver or Clark County park picnic shelter between May 1 and Sept. 30?

The city of Vancouver will begin taking reservations for five parks at 7 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3.

Reservations can be made by calling 360-487-7100 or going to Marshall Community Center, 1009 E. McLoughlin Blvd.

The center will open at 5:30 a.m.

There’s one shelter at each of the following parks: Fisher Basin Community Park, LeRoy Haagen Memorial Community Park, Marine Community Park, Leverich Community Park and Marshall Community Park.

Reservations for shelters at county parks can be made starting 7 a.m. Monday, March 3 at the Clark County Public Works Operation Center, 4700 N.E. 78th St.

Lewisville Regional Park has 13 shelters, while Vancouver Lake Regional Park, Frenchman’s Bar Regional Park, Captain William Clark Regional Park at Cottonwood Beach and Salmon Creek Regional Park/Klineline Pond each have two shelters.

Reservation fees are between $25 and $100, depending on the size of the shelter.

Picnic shelters at other parks are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
