FIREFIGHTER TRAINING

Aaron Cliburn, a 2004 graduate of Evergreen High School, recently graduated from the National Fire Protection Association 1001 Firefighter course at the Mississippi State Fire Academy in Jackson, Miss. Cliburn is the son of Linda Jacla of Camas and James Cliburn of Mississippi. His wife, formerly Karissa Munson, is also from Vancouver.

NASA INTERNSHIP

Jonathan Bauer, of Camas, and a student at Iowa State University, recently completed an internship at NASA’s Stennis Space Center in Mississippi, which is America’s largest rocket engine test complex. Bauer, a senior, is majoring in mechanical engineering. He is the son of Steve and Judy Bauer.

CHI ALPHA MINISTRY

Washington State University Vancouver students and graduates, and members of the organization Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship, have completed leadership positions within the organization or missions to foreign lands.

Tarah Blomdahl, a senior, worked in Bangladesh with Youth With A Mission. After training in Australia, she also worked in Calcutta, India, in one of Mother Teresa’s missions for women. Blomdahl first attended WSUV’s Chi Alpha club as a freshman and helped as a Bible study leader last year.

Hannah Morrison was a Chi Alpha leader two years before graduating last spring. Morrison has completed missions to Ireland, England and Honduras.

Catherine Mulligan worked with nuns in Columbia after helping in WSUV Chi Alpha. Mulligan transferred to WSU Spokane in 2013.

Charvel Nelson, a former Chi Alpha Bible study leader, is using her WSUV digital technology degree as a missionary with Potter’s Field Ministries in Guatemala.

Alex Smith, a former Chi Alpha leader, graduated last spring. Smith’s family has provided hospitality to Chinese students at WSUV.
