No. 18 Nebraska edges Minnesota in 88-85 OT win

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Jordan Hooper scored 18 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and became the fourth Nebraska player to reach 2,000 career points as the No. 18 Cornhuskers edged Minnesota 88-85 in overtime on Thursday night.

Nebraska (13-3, 3-1 Big Ten Conference) trailed much of the game but took the lead late in the second half on an 18-6 run capped by an Emily Cady 3-pointer that made it 76-73 with 1:46 to go. With nine seconds remaining in regulation, Minnesota (12-6, 1-3) sent the game into overtime with a 3-pointer by Rachel Banham that tied it at 78.

Minnesota struck first in OT but Nebraska took control on back-to-back layups. Rachel Theriot padded the lead with a pair of free throws.

Theriot contributed a career-high 33 points and Cady added 23 and 13 rebounds. Hooper reached the scoring milestone on a 3-pointer early in the second half.

Banham led Minnesota with 33 points.
