PORTLAND — A man who confessed to killing women decades ago has been sentenced to life in an Oregon prison with no chance for parole.

Jeffrey Cutlip was sentenced Friday, three months after he pleaded guilty to the murders of Marlene Claire Carlson, Julie Marie Bennett and Nielen Doll.

Carlson and Bennett were killed in the 1970s, and Doll was killed in 1993.

The 64-year-old Cutlip did not make a statement before he was sentenced in Portland.

Numerous relatives of the victims addressed Cutlip, describing the pain he caused and calling him a sick and evil person.

Cutlip was living in Texas in 2012 when he contacted police and confessed to killing four women. Police have been able to confirm only three killings.
