NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — Justin Sears’ 20 points and clutch free throws led Yale to a 74-67 win over Brown on Saturday.

Armani Cotton added 19 points for the Bulldogs, who outscored Brown 21-10 in turnover points.

Yale (7-8, 4-2 Ivy League) led Brown 33-31 in a tight first half that featured several lead changes.

The second half played out in much the same fashion until the Bulldogs broke free from Brown (8-7, 4-5) seven minutes in and led 55-46 on a Nick Victor layup.

Yale maintained that spread over the next six minutes before Brown closed the gap to just one point with 2:21 to play when Cedrick Kuakumensah made a layup and free throw.

Sears was good on 6-of-6 free throw attempts in the final 1:12 while Brown’s long ball efforts failed and the Bulldogs picked up their fourth conference win.

Sean McGonagill bed Brown scorers with 17 points.
