After reading Eric Bjorkman’s Jan. 11 letter “Controversy or travesty?,” I must clear up some misconceptions.
The Robertson family are not “knuckleheads.” Phil Robertson has a master’s degree in education; Alan is an ordained minister, with a degree, and Willie Robertson has a business degree. Hardly a bunch of uneducated people, as insinuated.
“Duck Dynasty” is popular because: the Robinson family is deeply religious and are not ashamed of it; their children are clean, educated, and respectful of their elders and others; there is no swearing, nudity, or in-your-face sexual stuff.
Phil Robertson has a right to his opinion, popular or unpopular.
