Picking the Seahawks and Broncos to reach the Super Bowl was a popular decision.

On Aug. 30, NFL.com had two of its “experts” predict Seahawks over Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII.

On Sept. 3, ESPN.com posted picks by its 12 experts, and two went with a Seahawks-Broncos final. One took Seattle, one took Denver for the champion.

On Sept 4, USA Today had three pick Seahawks-Broncos with two taking Seattle and one Denver.

Saturday night’s Vancouver Canucks vs. Calgary Flames game started with a line brawl. Doubt you’d ever see that in any other sport.

“I’m not proud of it. I’ve apologized to every one of the players involved in it. I don’t feel great about it at all,” said Canucks coach John Tortorella.

The most shocking upset at the Australian Open happened in doubles.

Bob and Mike Bryan, the most successful doubles team in the Open era with 15 Grand Slam titles, including six at the Australian were sent packing with a third-round loss to a team that has been together for just four months.

The last time the Bryans lost this early at Melbourne Park was 2003. The twins have made the finals of the Australian in nine of the last 10 years.
