VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — Henrik Sedin’s NHL ironman streak is ending at 679 games. He last missed a game 10 seasons ago.

Canucks assistant coach Mike Sullivan said Monday the Vancouver captain will not play at Edmonton on Tuesday because of an undisclosed injury. He is listed as day to day.

Sedin has the second-highest total for consecutive games among active players. St. Louis Blues defenseman Jay Bouwmeester takes a streak of 682 straight appearances into Monday night’s game at Detroit.

Sedin left after the second period of Saturday’s brawl-marred game against the Calgary Flames that the Canucks won 3-2 in a shootout.
