•What to do in the garden in February: 11 a.m. Feb. 1. Monthly seminar on maintenance in the landscape and garden.

• Root-over-rock workshop: 11 a.m. Feb. 15. Workshop will focus on how to create your own root-over-rock project. $35 fee includes plant, rock, pot and soil.

• Getting started in the vegetable garden: 11 a.m. Feb. 8. Learn information on growing early spring vegetables.

Master composter/recycler training: 6 to 8:30 p.m., Thursdays, Feb. 6 through April 10 at CASEE, Building B, Room 206, 11104 N.E. 149th St. Brush Prairie. A 10-session course on backyard composting, vermicomposting, recycling, greener consumer choices, green building and interpretive techniques. Free for members or $15 per class. WSU master gardeners Get Growing: Introduction to vegetable gardening series: 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Feb. 8, March 8, April 12 and May 10. From seed to harvest, through hands-on and small group classes, participants will learn about soil preparation, crop selection, pest and disease management, irrigation and more.
