Boys basketball: R.A. Long 57, Washougal 54

The Panthers erased an 18-point deficit but came up short in Longview.

Washougal took a late 54-53 lead, but a couple of Panther turnovers proved costly. Down three points, the Panthers had the final possession but did not get a shot up.

The Lumberjacks started fast, building a 22-11 lead in the first quarter and leading by as many as 18 in the second quarter. The halftime margin was 13 points.

Austin Tran scored 20 points for the Panthers and Patrick Jones 10.

Brady Hulings scored 20 points for R.A. Long.
