Cal State Fullerton edges UC Santa Barbara 74-72

FULLERTON, Calif. (AP) — Michael Williams, who finished with 19 points, eight assists and six rebounds, hit a late go-ahead 3-pointer to help Cal State Fullerton edge UC Santa Barbara 74-72 Saturday night.

The Titans (7-12, 2-3 Big West) shot 50 percent from the field. Alex Harris scored 22 points and Marquis Horne had 13.

Alan Williams paced UCSB (12-6, 3-2) with 26 points and nine boards, while Zalmico Harmon had eight points with 10 assists.

Fullerton led by 12 early in the second half, but the Gauchos surged back as Alan Williams had a jumper and a three-point play to grab a 70-68 lead.

Michael Williams sank a 3-pointer with 32 seconds left to put the Titans on top. UCSB missed their next three field goal attempts, while Fullerton hit three free throws to go up by four with 10 seconds left. Alan Williams hit a last-second jumper for the final margin.
