Letter: New plates same as old plates

The Columbian
Published: January 26, 2014, 4:00pm

This is in response to the Jan. 22 “What’s up with that?” question from Florence Wheeler: “There’s more to replacement than meets the eye.”

I suspect that 99 percent of the people who pay the extra $20 to have the state reissue a “new” old license plate will simply leave the current, old one on their car and toss the “new” one in the trunk or wherever. Why bother when the one on the vehicle is perfectly functional?
