Cleveland State dominates Eastern Illinois 82-68

CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) — Bryn Forbes scored 25 points Tuesday night and Cleveland State beat Eastern Illinois 82-68, notching the 150th win for coach Gary Waters, making him the winningest coach in CSU program history.

Trey Lewis scored 17 and grabbed nine rebounds, and Anton Grady scored 10 for Cleveland State (14-9) in its final non-conference game of the season. The Vikings outshot the Panthers 50 percent to 44.9 percent, and out-rebounded them 34-26.

Forbes capped an 11-2 run with a 3-pointer and Cleveland State led 30-19 midway through the first half. Eastern Illinois (7-14) ripped an 11-2 run but trailed 41-37 at halftime.

The Panthers opened the second half with a 7-0 run, then pulled ahead by 15 on another 7-0 run. Chris Olivier’s free throw made it an eight-point game at 4:53, but Eastern Illinois got no closer.

Dylan Chatman led the Panthers with 19, Sherman Blanford scored 16, and Olivier 11.
