Cherita Daugherty scored 18 points, Nicole Goecke added 14 and the Falcons made 10 3-pointers.

While the Falcons (14-3, 7-0 3A GSHL) completed a season sweep, Mountain View coach Matt Clark liked what he saw from his young team in the second meeting.

Emilly Moore made five of her team’s eight 3-pointers and scored 15 points to lead the Thunder (5-12, 2-5).

“On a night when Prairie makes 10 threes, I was happy with our girls’ overall effort really trying to match what they do,” he said. “Let’s face it: Prairie’s the gold standard. As the game went along, the kids did a good job of meeting the tone for the game that Prairie was setting.”

Clark said he was “a little bit encouraged” by how his sophomore-laden team played, despite enough lapses to result in the 15-point loss.

The game featured more made 3-pointers (18) than free throw attempts (14).

Mountain View cut a nine-point deficit after the first quarter to five in the second period before Daugherty led a spurt that put the lead back in double digits.
