High Point downs Presbyterian 81-74

CLINTON, S.C. (AP) — Devante Wallace scored a career-best 28 points Tuesday and shot 8 of 9 from beyond the arc as High Point beat Presbyterian 81-74 to win its fourth game in a row.

John Brown and Lorenzo Cugini scored 12 apiece and High Point outshot Presbyterian from distance 63.6 percent (14 of 22) to 33.3 percent (7 of 21).

High Point (8-12, 4-3 Big South Conference) took a 17-10 lead on Anthony Lindauer’s 3-pointer then pulled away on back-to-back treys by Wallace to lead 31-21. Presbyterian (4-18, 0-7) had 8-0 run but trailed 41-33 at halftime.

Wallace opened the second half with consecutive 3-pointers, then hit two more treys and High Point led 55-39 at 16:06. Presbyterian finished on a 13-2 run.

William Truss scored 21 on 10-of-10 shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds for Presbyterian. Jordan Downing added 19 and Reggie Dillard 14 for the Blue Hose.
