Clark County Prosecutor’s Office seeks volunteers to screen recordings of jail phone calls for case-related information, use computers to look up information on cases and prepare an overview of call activity for attorney review.

Evergreen Public Schools is looking for volunteers in all of its elementary schools. Volunteers are needed at Burnt Bridge Creek Elementary to help children with special needs learn new things, feel good about themselves, and have fun in the Life Skills program. At Hearthwood Elementary, volunteers are needed to help kindergarten-through-fifth-grade students with reading, math and writing.

Human Services Council is looking for volunteer help in its Veterans Assistance and Resource program including general office help, surveys, setting up computers and making regular phone calls to veterans and clients.

Lifeline Connections is looking for help answering phones, tracking messages, filing and doing light computer work.

Vancouver Public Schools seeks volunteers for the Lunch Buddy Program in 19 of its schools. Volunteers meet 45 minutes weekly with a student who needs a positive role model. Buddies eat together, then spend the remainder of recess playing games, reading or just visiting. Male buddies are in high demand.

• YWCA Clark County will host a free open house, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 6 at YWCA Clark County Community Room, 3609 Main St., Vancouver. Staff and volunteers from seven programs will discuss opportunities for volunteers. No reservation is needed.
