A former Washington State Patrol lieutenant who worked in Southwest Washington was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of multiple counts related to sex abuse.

Clark County Sheriff’s deputies took Kenneth S. Garrison of Vancouver into custody without incident at the Rodeway Inn and Suites, 2323 N.E. 181 Ave. in Portland. Gresham police and the East Metro SWAT team assisted in the arrest. The allegations included one count of second-degree rape.

Garrison resigned from his lieutenant position at WSP in December. He also was a lieutenant colonel in the Washington Army National Guard but retired on Monday.

Authorities are still investigating the case. Anyone with information is asked to call the Clark County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 360-397-6008.
