Laurin students express creativity

Brush Prairie — An in-class art show this month let Laurin Middle School students express their creativity in front of peers, families and other visitors. This was the second year of the “Laurin Specialist Showcase,” where students in fine arts teacher Tanya Bachman’s class presented works in the medium of their choice on Jan. 16. “The showcase is not a contest or competition, but rather a way to celebrate and honor multiple learning styles through performance and creative works,” Bachman said in a press release. Students self-assessed their projects, picking two of the best and one they felt needed improvement.
