PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A Multnomah County, Ore., search and rescue team has found a female hiker who had called 911 to say she was lost in an area called Angel’s Rest in the Columbia River Gorge.

Lt. Steve Alexander says 56-year-old Pamela Benjamin-Monheimer of Portland was located shortly before 8 p.m. Wednesday. She was cold but unhurt and the rescue team was escorting her out.

Deputies were sent to the area Wednesday afternoon after the woman called for help after she became separated from her hiking partner, who ran ahead on the trails near Angel’s Rest.

The deputies came across the missing hiker’s partner and he provided information on the last location where he saw the woman before they got separated.
