Scouts given Catholic emblems

Clark County — Dozens of Scouts from various organizations in the area were awarded Catholic Scouting emblems during an annual presentation Sunday at Saint Mary’s Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Portland. Archbishop Alexander K. Sample and the Archdiocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting gave the honors to 78 Scouts from 31 parishes around Oregon and in Clark County. The Catholic Scouting Religious Emblem Program aims to “integrate family, faith and community with study, learned skills and fun,” according to a press release.
