WSUV to host climate and energy lectures

Washington State University Vancouver will host two free public lectures Thursday in Room 110 of the Dengerink Administration Building, 14204 N.E. Salmon Creek Ave.

Eric de Place, policy director for the Sightline Institute in Seattle, will speak at noon on “Climate Impacts of Fossil Fuel Exports in the Pacific Northwest.” At 1:25 p.m., University of Alberta associate professor Ian Urquhart will deliver a talk on “Canada’s Tar Sands: Destination Anywhere?”

The lectures are part of the eighth annual Spring Research Colloquium sponsored by the Center for Social and Environmental Justice. The series continues through April.
