Letter: Compulsory union dues opposed

The Columbian
Published: January 30, 2014, 4:00pm

In a Jan. 22 article “Justices mull mandatory union dues,” the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation was described as an “anti-union advocacy group.” Nothing could be further from the truth. NRTW is not opposed to the formation of unions or to the concept of unionized labor. NRTW objects to payment of compulsory union dues as a requirement of keeping a job. The foundation’s mission since its beginning in 1968 has been to prevent American workers from becoming forced passengers on the union bus.
