A June 26 news brief reported that “CREDC votes to support rail safety improvement efforts,” according to Mike Bomar, Columbia River Economic Development Council president. What authority, recognition or any other factor gives this group any right to emulate a legislator or any other government agency? With Bomar’s unnecessary conclusions and grandstanding for exposure, will his group furnish funds needed for these safety improvements or is he also promoting a new tax issue? Bomar’s all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C., is a meaningless waste of federal grant revenue — he may just get in the way of working people.
Please stick to Clark County where we know what this group stands for and how they got there.
