LONGVIEW — A Longview, Washington, man is in jail Friday on investigation of assault after he allegedly ran over his estranged wife’s boyfriend with his car.

Longview Police Capt. Robert Huhta says 39-year-old Thomas Nolan was driving with his estranged wife Thursday when he spotted the other man. Huhta says Nolan veered off the roadway and drove his car over the victim.

The victim, identified as 34-year-old Nickolas Peterson, was treated and released from a local hospital with a broken foot.

Tammy Nolan, who recently separated from her husband, says he was giving her a ride to work Thursday. She tells The Daily News that her husband “just gunned it” when he saw the other man.

Thomas Nolan was booked into the Cowlitz County Jail on investigation of first-degree assault.
