Clark County sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man suspected of robbing a Chinese-cuisine restaurant in Hazel Dell on Monday after telling employees that he had a gun.

The 911 call came in around 4:45 p.m. at the Canton Chinese Buffet, 1118 N.E. 78th St. A white man in his 20s, who was described as wearing dark clothing, a fake beard and a dark camouflage hat, walked into the restaurant and implied he had a weapon, according to emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian.

Sheriff’s deputies converged on the area, but were unable to locate the suspect Monday. Sheriff’s Sgt. Brent Waddell said the agency’s tactical detective unit is investigating the robbery.
