The Al Angelo Co. is considering removal of a small commercial building with several tenants that it owns on East Mill Plain Boulevard to expand parking for the adjacent Al Angelo Building at 400 E. Mill Plain Blvd.

The single-floor building at 308 to 316 E. Mill Plain Blvd. houses a State Farm insurance office, a printing ink supply retailer and the Simply Sweets pastry shop. Tenants say the Al Angelo Co. is working to help them find new spaces for their businesses if the project goes forward this fall.

The parking lot would add about 14 spaces to existing parking behind the building, bringing the total number of parking spaces on the lot to about 30. The Al Angelo Building is directly to the east, between Mill Plain and East 15th Street.

The city’s Community and Economic Development Department will hold a pre-application conference with the Al Angelo Co.’s representatives, Wilson Associates Architects and Planners, on July 17.
