A candlelight vigil will be held 8 p.m. tonight at Heritage High School for the Vancouver man whose body was recovered from the Yale Reservoir. Austin Woldford’s memorial takes place on the baseball field of the school, 7825 N.E. 130th Ave.

The 19-year-old was believed to have drowned shortly after noon Sunday while swimming with friends. Wolford drifted out on an inner tube to a deep area of the reservoir, slipped off and could not get back on, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Kelly Crain, a family friend and spokesman for the Wolford family, said Wolford was a 2013 graduate of Heritage High School, where he participated in baseball, football, and wrestling.

For those wishing to help the Wolford family with funeral expenses, donations cn be made to “The Austin Wolford Memorial Fund” at any Columbia Credit Union branch or through the online Austin Wolford Memorial Fund.
