The Vancouver Major Crimes Unit is investigating after a woman was found deceased behind a Rose Village business early Saturday morning.

Police responded to the 2800 block of Fort Vancouver Way, just south of East 29th Street, at about 2:30 a.m. for the suspicious death of a 19-year-old transient woman identified as Daytona Hudgins. Her body was found in a transient camp behind a cell phone repair business, said Vancouver police spokeswoman Kim Kapp.

Kapp said that because of the woman’s age, major crimes detectives were investigating the death. The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office is working to determine the manner and cause of death.
