PENDLETON, Ore. — A police officer in Boardman, Ore., resigned following his arrest on charges of drunken and reckless driving.

Boardman police Chief Richard Stokoe told the East Oregonian newspaper that Anthony Rose resigned Monday after nine months with the department.

Oregon State Police Lt. Gregg Hastings says the 30-year-old Rose was arrested June 15 near Albany after a trooper responded to a complaint of a motorcyclist driving recklessly on Interstate 5. Hastings says the trooper took Rose to the Linn County Jail, where he refused to take a breath test to determine his blood alcohol level.

Rose’s first court date is Sept. 24.
