American Cancer Society Discovery Shop is looking for volunteers to sort and price donations, steam clothing as needed and assist customers with their purchases.

City of Vancouver has many year-round opportunities at the Water Resources Education Center and Columbia Springs. Help is needed at Second Saturday and other events, with beach cleanup and as volunteer leads.

Empower Up seeks volunteers for special events, grant writing, fundraising, outreach, office work, donations, computer repair and deconstruction, audio repair, running the cash register and with leadership.


Kids Cooking Corner
seeks volunteers to help weed and harvest crops.

NatureScaping of SW Washington is looking for a volunteer groundskeeper to assist volunteers with mowing, weeding, pruning, composting and maintaining the garden tools.

Hoops on the River, a basketball tournament hosted by Share, has activities Aug. 14-17 in Vancouver. Volunteers, working in teams, are needed to help with setup, hospitality, tickets, auction help, grounds support, security, signs, court monitoring and tear down. Most shifts are 2-4 hours long. • The county commissioners seek to fill a position on the Public Facilities District board of directors for a term ending Dec. 31. They are looking for applicants with experience in the tourism industry, marketing, hotels and convention centers, facility operations and finance, economic development and general knowledge about Clark County.

Board members are paid $50 per day while attending meetings. Regular board meetings are at 4 p.m. the first Monday of February, May, August and November at the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St.
