Columbia Way — Boaters at Marine Park can now borrow a life jacket for free from a new stand by the boat launch area. The life jacket loaner program is a team effort.

Safe Kids Clark County operates the stand with help from Vancouver Parks and Recreation. The jackets were donated by the Sea Tow Foundation from a grant it received from the U.S. Coast Guard. The kiosk was built as an Eagle Scout project by Brian Haugen.

There’s also a Safe Kids Clark County life jacket stand at Klineline Pond. If you have a life jacket to donate you can drop it off at Clark County Fire District Station 61, 8800 N.E. Hazel Dell Ave.
