Letter: Atkins excels as natural leader

I am a retired Clark County Deputy Sheriff and worked with Chuck Atkins for more than 20 years. In a management class I once took, the instructor said a key ingredient to successful leadership is getting people to go along with you.

During his career, while working his way up to commander, Atkins showed time and again he excels at this. He is a natural leader. Those who know him like, respect and trust him.

While the other candidates have some good qualities, I believe Atkins has the best combination of knowledge, skill, ability and administrative experience to be the next Clark County sheriff.
