Letter: Help save our planet

Venus. Our sister planet. Venus is like a desert because of an imbalance between CO2 and the other gases in the planet’s atmosphere. The same thing will happen if we don’t stop overusing CO2 and releasing toxic gases into our environment. I know that almost everybody has contributed to this problem, but people should care more about this situation because it is a worldwide issue. If we don’t do something, the world will pass a point of no return and then catastrophic things can happen.

A website, www.dosomething.org, suggests things you can do every day to help prevent climate change. The website offer many tips on how to help prevent climate change with little daily actions.

One thing you can do is air drying your clothes, and that saves 700 pounds of CO2 emissions a year. That is amazing.

Another solution is to buy energy-efficient appliances. This helps stop the over usage of energy in places that generate energy using dirty methods such as burning coal and fossil fuels.

I am a middle school student and I care, so why don’t more of you?

You should be doing everything you can to help our home planet, Earth.
