Letters: Fighting terminals stops new jobs

One of the reasons I like to visit the Portland Saturday Market is to debate at the political booths represented.

Well, I hit the jackpot on a recent Saturday when MoveOn.Org, The Sierra Club and a representative asking for signatures to legalize marijuana were all present.

We all should know by now that MoveOn.Org is a far-left organization supported by George Soros.

The Sierra Club is asking people to stop the coal trains for export out of Longview. They almost killed the forest products industry, both lumber and paper, and now they want to stop jobs that are badly needed. The export coal shipments create jobs for the coal industry, the railroads and the Port of Longview.

Maybe the Sierra Club has not heard that nearly 40 percent of our electricity in the U.S. is produced by clean-burning coal.

You’ve probably guessed where I stand on the marijuana issue.
