Everett woman, 89, missing for 2 weeks

EVERETT — An 89-year-old Everett woman has been missing for two weeks and searches by law enforcement agencies have come up empty.

The Everett Herald reports that Ethel A. O’Neil disappeared July 16. She had been planning to go shopping at the Everett Mall, just a three-mile drive from her home.

Her family believes O’Neil, who has early signs of dementia, might have become lost. She was last seen in Marysville asking for a map and directions back to Everett.

The search for her has spanned from Glacier Peak Wilderness to forest roads between Granite Falls and Barlow Pass. Police have also looked for any sign in the county’s densely populated west side and a State Patrol plane equipped with special cameras traced possible routes.

So far, no signs of her.

Her family hasn’t given up hope. O’Neil is described as 5-foot-6 and about 120 pounds, with blue eyes and white hair. She was last driving a 1987 Chevy Nova, Washington license plate ADP6803.
