EUGENE, Ore. — A University of Oregon Police Department spokesman says the last of four missing Ethiopian athletes who went missing during the World Junior Championships has been found.

The Eugene Register-Guard reports that 18-year-old Zeyituna Mohammed was found safe at the residence of an acquaintance in Federal Way on Tuesday.

Four athletes were reported missing this past Saturday, and although no foul play was suspected, it launched a police investigation. Three of the athletes were found Monday in Beaverton at the home of an acquaintance.

Spokesman Kelly McIver says the Ethiopian athletes are in the United States legally and can stay per the terms of their visas. McIver adds that police do not know whether the athletes plan to seek political asylum.

Mohammed placed sixth in the 800-meter run.
