Letter: Appreciate the gifts nation receives

The Columbian
Published: June 5, 2014, 5:00pm

Memorial Day has come and gone for another year. I watched the National Memorial Day Concert honoring the U.S. military. I heard Colin Powell refer to the Scriptures, citing that we are admonished “to love one another.” I heard the word prayer more than once. Then the Lord’s Prayer was sung word for word from Luke Chapter 11. At the end of the program, the crowd proudly sang God Bless America.

God has blessed America. We need to remember that every day of the year. Let’s continue to pray often and everywhere. Let’s read and do what Scripture tells us to do. Let’s thank God for the military whose service and sacrifice continues to give us freedom to do this.
