Oregon GMO labeling campaign raised $1M

PORTLAND — The campaign to put a genetically modified labeling initiative on the November ballot in Oregon has raised nearly $1 million.

The Oregonian reports $591,000 of it has been spent with a signature-gathering firm.

Campaign finance disclosures show the political action committee Oregon GMO Right to Know spent the money with Fieldworks LLC.

The committee has raised $936,000 trying to put the measure before voters.
