Monkeys died of shock after arriving at Oregon Zoo

PORTLAND — Six monkeys that died after arriving at the Oregon Zoo last month suffered from shock, but the zoo's senior veterinarian says he hasn't been able to find a specific cause.

Dr. Tim Storms told KATU Wednesday an investigation has ruled out temperature extremes, pesticides and toxins in their food.

Three of the nine cotton-top tamarin monkeys survived and are in good health at the zoo in Portland.
