Police say they have arrested two Portland residents on suspicion of robbing a Vancouver branch of Umpqua Bank on Friday.

Dale A. Roane, 48, and Brenda L. Westberg, 47, were arrested at her home at 8740 N. Curtis Ave. in Portland, according to a police news release. They are being held in the Multnomah County Jail until extradition to Clark County.

They’re accused of robbing a branch of Umpqua Bank at 6501 E. Mill Plain Boulevard. About 3:15 p.m. Friday, a thin man in his 40s wearing a wig entered the bank and presented a note demanding money. He fled with some cash.

A witness reported seeing a man matching the robber’s description climbing into a car parked behind a nearby business. There was reportedly a second person in the car. The witness got the license plate number and reported it to authorities.

An initial search of the area for the robber and the car were unfruitful.
