The NFL has discussed experimenting in the preseason with placing the ball at the 25-yard line on extra-point kicks — which would mean 42-yard attempts — in an effort to make PAT kicks less automatic.

But we have other ideas to put more drama in PATs.

• Offenses may only be comprised of the center, holder and kicker.

• If right-footed, kicker must attempt PAT with left foot, and vice versa.

• PAT kicks must be attempted by player who was on the field for one of the previous five plays.

So have you heard the story of San Diego State running back Adam Muema who left the NFL combine because God told him he would play for the Seattle Seahawks if he did not work out.

The Los Angeles Times reported Muema’s belief in numerology convinced himself that if he skipped the combine he would be picked by the Seahawks and wear No. 8. He has already changed his Twitter biography to say “Seahawks #8.”

We checked the numbers, and we think that Muema’s best chances of being drafted by the Seahawks will come in the eighth round.

Tuesday’s Mariners game against the Dodgers had an odd start.

On the mound for the Dodgers was reliever Brian Wilson.

With regular starter Zach Greinke out with a strained calf, the Dodgers turned Tuesday’s game into a bullpen game, with the bearded Wilson getting first crack.

Then Wilson stepped things up a notch by starting the Mariners’ Brad Miller with a first-pitch knuckleball for a strike.

That’s right. A knuckleball.

It could have been just the goofy Wilson being goofy. But he has dabbled with the knuckleball in practice, so who knows?
