The Bonneville Power Administration says it’s looking for partners — from utilities and nonprofits to researchers and technology developers — to help make improvements to the Northwest’s electric system. The deadline to submit proposals to BPA’s Technology Innovation Office for its 2015 fiscal year is March 27.

The agency’s current research portfolio includes 38 projects in a variety of areas, including climate change, data mining, demand response, energy efficiency technologies and energy storage. BPA uses a two-phase process to select potential research and development opportunities. It requires a 50 percent cost share with its partners.

For more information about submitting proposals, contact Matt DeLong, financial assistance officer, at mldelong@bpa.gov or 503-230-7549. For more information about research areas, contact Sheila Adel, portfolio manager, at sabennett@bpa.gov or 503-230-3152.
