The Battle Ground Police Department is collecting police memorabilia to put on display at the police station. People in the community are asked to donate items related to the history of police service in Battle Ground — including photographs, newspaper clippings, equipment and uniforms.

The department is particularly interested in getting a photograph of Jess Graffunder, who is believed to have served as the first town marshal in 1951, the same year that the police department was established.

To donate items or provide historical information about the Battle Ground Police Department, contact Alisha Smith at 360-342-5310 or alisha.smith@cityofbattleground.org.
