The Parks Foundation of Clark County will give $33,325 to support programs at the Luepke Senior Center, according to a news release Thursday.

The money comes from the Theodore A. Barney Fund. Barney and his wife participated in programs at the center for years.

“The purpose of these funds is to support programs that encourage healthy, active and vibrant lifestyles for seniors,” said Cheri Martin, Parks Foundation executive director. “The Barney Fund helps Vancouver Parks and Recreation keep recreational offerings for seniors affordable and allows the department to offer a variety of enrichment experiences to meet individual interests and abilities.”

The funds will support senior enrichment and 50+ Travel programs, events, and aquatics and fitness programs for seniors.

Luepke Senior Center and Marshall Community Center are adjacent facilities at 1009 E. McLoughlin Blvd.
