Police suspended a search Monday for a missing Vancouver woman whose vehicle was found Sunday in the parking lot of Beacon Rock State Park.

Daphne C. Alexander Christ, 46, was reported missing to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office over the weekend. On Sunday, deputies in Skamania County found her black Suzuki station wagon at the base of Beacon Rock in the Columbia River Gorge. They searched for Alexander Christ, but couldn’t find her. Police dogs and marine patrol with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office helped comb the area again on Monday, but searchers came up empty.

The search is suspended until police get credible information about where Alexander Christ might be.

“Right now, we don’t believe she’s in that area,” said Skamania County Undersheriff Dave Cox.

Anyone who knows her whereabouts is asked to call either the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office at 509-427-9490 or the Clark County Sheriff’s Office at 360-397-2303.
