Hearthwood — Cub Scout Pack 2, the sensory-friendly group for boys on the autism spectrum, had its third annual Blue-and-Gold banquet March 6. The evening was made extra special by the distribution of Arrow of Light Cub Scout awards to three of the group's founding scouts: Preston Hagan, Max Milton and Gavin Brandt. "To see the pride in the Scouts' faces was something I will never forget," founding mom Deanna Pehrson wrote in an email. "Autistic kids get few chances to feel pride and a sense of accomplishment. Scouting with Pack 2 has helped these Scouts and others achieve things and experience outings they would have never dreamed of doing before. Max Milton took his Arrow of Light award and paraded it around the entire room for all to see like Vanna White!" Cub Scout Pack 2 meets at 5:30 p.m. Thursdays at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 220 N.E. Hearthwood Blvd.
