PORTLAND — Police say a teenage girl was shot after fighting broke out at a party in southeast Portland.
Sgt. Pete Simpson said Monday morning that the girl was taken to the hospital for treatment of a wound not considered life-threatening.
He says there was a party at an American Legion hall, and someone fired a gun when two groups got into an argument.
Simpson says several fights broke out as officers arrived, and more officers were called to restore order in the neighborhood.
Police are still looking for the person who fired the gun. The Gang Enforcement Team is investigating.
